Since launching in 2008, giving back to the community has been a top priority at Encore Painting. Over the years we’ve been honoured to provide our services, time, and resources to an array of charitable organizations across the GTA. For us, teamwork is at the core of everything we do.

Whether it’s dancing the night away to raise funds for Alzheimer’s or painting women’s shelters, we at Encore Painting are always striving for community togetherness. So, when Trails Youth Initiatives reached out to us regarding their 4th annual Get Outside Challenge–we knew we wanted to contribute.

About Trails Youth Initiatives

Founded in 1992, Trails Youth Initiatives uses “outdoor experiential education” to set at-risk youth up for a successful future. To date, the organization has helped hundreds of kids gain the confidence and skills needed to not only graduate high school—but to pursue post-secondary education as well.

According to stats provided by Trails Youth Initiatives, “99% of Trails participants graduate from high school, and 72% of alumni enter post-secondary school with tuition costs covered by Trails.” And that’s not all! Over 95% of kids who took part in a recent summer program reported that participating in Trails Youth Initiatives provided them with improved leadership skills, improved conflict resolution, improved communication, and stronger initiative.

In a release sent to Encore Painting, a representative for Trails Youth Initiatives explains, “Our goal is to instill practical skills, relevant knowledge and the self-confidence to use them. Through outdoor skill development, mentorship, high school credits, bursaries and job opportunities, we enhance the lives of our participants, their families and the greater community.”

Why Giving Back Matters To Encore Painting

As an established GTA painting company, it’s vital that we bring our core values into every aspect of our work. Two of those values – teamwork and community – are exactly why giving back is so important at Encore Painting. For us, success is defined by more than just high-quality paint jobs, it’s about showing up as a team every day and supporting our community in every way that we can.

How You Can Help

The 4th annual Get Outside Challenge, titled “Brooks Buddies” is set to take place on May 4, 2024. According to the organization’s website, the challenge has seen 320 participants spend over 4,000 hours outdoors in the past three years.

In that time, they’ve also raised $225,000. And with your help, that success can continue. Those interested in participating can register online and pledge to spend at least 8 hours outside throughout the challenge. For those who are unable to commit that much time outdoors, financial donations are always helpful, too.
